PLATFORM

People are often asked why they go into public service and I think if you don't like the way things are now, standing up to make changes is better than complaining.

I am dedicated to working tirelessly to ensure issues that are important to our community are addressed, engaging with the community every step of the way and maintaining transparency throughout.  The way I approach my current job is the way I will approach representing the community; with hard work and dedication. I bring a strong work ethic that leaves no challenge unresolved.

I plan to speak to community members and organizations throughout the campaign to learn more about key issues.  If you would like to chat, please reach out.

Together, "Our Vision. Our Voice." unites us for a better community.

Key Priorities

1/ Address The Housing Shortage

Working with Provincial counterparts to fast-track projects that make sense for our community as there is an urgent need for affordable housing.

2/ Prioritize Fiscal Responsibility

We all pay a high percentage of our income towards three levels of government, however there is only one taxpayer,  and that is all of us. As a municipality we should be looking inward for savings and efficiencies that would keep property taxes and fees stable and not continuing to rise.

3/ Support for Unhoused

Housing is a basic human right and any person sleeping rough or experiencing homelessness deserves our help.  We cannot turn our backs on our fellow humans. Currently there are designated spaces within HRM which support our homeless population but more needs to be done.  I believe in creating safe spaces while seeking alternatives away from residential areas, parks, and schools, ensuring safety in public spaces while listening to resident concerns.

4/ City Planning

I am frequently on the roads driving from job site to job site and can see first hand that the increasing growth in our municipality and suburban sprawl, there is a great need to improve traffic design and flow while including a safe passage of travel for cyclists and pedestrians. There also needs to be greater modes of egress in the event of emergencies.

5/ Outdoor Spaces and Environment

Emphasizing the importance of connecting residents to nature amidst urban development there is an even greater need to make sure that parks, trails and walking paths get developed along with them.  By consulting with groups like Sackville Rivers Association, Sackville Lakes, Parks and Trails Association, and the Ecology Action Center, I aim to ensure the environment is top of mind throughout every decision.
